ABOUT THE ROLEOut of the Box technology is a Dallas-based firm delivering outsourced accounting, financial advisory, and technology advisory services. This role sits inside our Functional Advisory practice, which exists to make sure technology transformations actually work, not just technically but operationally.The job is split evenly between ERP implementation and accounting advisory. The right candidate is equally comfortable configuring QuickBooks Online and evaluating whether a client's AP controls are defensible. Most people are stronger on one side. We need someone who is strong on both.This is a fully client-billable role reporting to the VP of Advisory. You own your engagements from scope to delivery.RESPONSIBILITIESTechnology Implementation and Project ManagementLead full-cycle implementations on QuickBooks Online and Intuit Enterprise Suite, covering requirements gathering, configuration, data migration, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live stabilizationDesign and implement integrations with surrounding SaaS tools including Salesforce, HubSpot, Bill.com, Ramp, Rippling, ServiceTitan, and MaxioManage project timelines, client communications, and deliverable quality across multiple concurrent engagementsTranslate technical decisions into language that finance leadership can act on, and turn client requirements into system configuration that actually worksAccounting AdvisoryPerform accounting health checks: assess the state of a client's books, identify what is broken and why, and produce findings specific enough to be actionableExecute cleanup engagements including chart of accounts restructuring, transaction reclassification, and historical reconciliationRedesign finance processes that are not working, including month-end close, AP/AR workflows, and management reportingEvaluate control environments and identify gaps in segregation of duties, approval workflows, and financial oversightConduct risk assessments and help clients understand which exposures to address firstQUALIFICATIONSRequiredCPA or equivalent credentialWorking knowledge of integrated SaaS tools in AP automation, CRM, payroll, and revenue management. You have connected these systems to a GL before.Accounting fundamentals strong enough to evaluate a set of books with authority and explain what is wrong to a CFOProject management skills that hold under pressure. You build plans, track them, and keep clients accountable.Client-facing experience that includes delivering findings people did not want to hearStrongly PreferredBackground in consulting, advisory, or outsourced accountingHands-on QBO and/or IES implementation experience. Not platform familiarity. Actual deployment experience with real clients.Exposure to lower-middle-market or high-growth company finance operations, where resources are tight and the infrastructure is still being builtWhat the Job Actually RequiresThe checklists above are filters, not the full picture.
