Position Type:AdministrationDate Posted:3/18/2026Location:DistrictClosing Date:Until FilledDate: March 18, 2026From: Office of the SuperintendentSubject: VacancyPosition: Supervisor of GuidancePennsauken Public Schools is an urban/suburban Pre-K to 12th grade school district of approximately 5,000 students located in Camden County, New JerseyThe Supervisor of Guidance provides district-wide leadership, coordination, and oversight of comprehensive school counseling services (K 12), ensuring alignment with NJDOE mandates, graduation requirements, college and career readiness standards, SEL frameworks, and student access to academic and postsecondary pathways.Responsibilities:Program Leadership & Compliance: Design, implement, and evaluate a district-wide Comprehensive School Counseling Program aligned to ASCA and NJDOE standards.Ensure compliance with NJ graduation requirements, NJGPA mandates, FAFSA completion initiatives, and postsecondary readiness benchmarks.Oversee HIB reporting, student crisis response coordination, and mental health referral systems in collaboration with Student Services.Monitor counselor caseloads to ensure student access to services.Academic & Career Planning:Oversee academic planning, transcript audits, and graduation progress monitoring.Ensure student access to Advanced Placement, CTE pathways, dual enrollment, academies, and enrichment programs.Support implementation of Individual Student Planning and Career Readiness initiatives.Data-Driven Leadership: Analyze student performance, attendance, discipline, graduation, and postsecondary enrollment data.Identify achievement gaps and recommend targeted interventions.Provide data reports to district leadership and Board of Education as requested.Staff Supervision & Professional Development: In collaboration with building Principals, supervise, develop and evaluate school counselors and related staff.Provide professional development aligned to NJSPL Domain 2 (Teaching & Learning), Domain 3 (Professional Capacity), as well as in additional areas related to emerging trends and data.Build counselor capacity in academic advising, mental health supports, and career pathways.Family & Community Engagement:Strengthen communication with families regarding graduation requirements, FAFSA, scheduling, and postsecondary planning.Build partnerships with colleges, trade schools, military representatives, and workforce organizations.Qualifications: NJDOE Supervisor Certificate; Principal or School Administrator Certificate (preferred).School Counselor Certificate (preferred).Valid New Jersey Teacher Certification and experience required.Demonstrated leadership skills in the areas of curriculum development, program evaluation, staff development and school improvement.Strong interpersonal and communication skillsRequired criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status.Terms: Terms and conditions determined by the Pennsauken Board of Education. 12-month position.Salary: $96,900- $143,080 annually Applications are accepted on-line only.
