COOK- Full time, evenings, and weekend coverage needed

Serenity Knolls, a premier residential treatment center in beautiful Forest Knolls, is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team. We're loocated in the San Geronimo Valley just 10 minutes West of Fairfax. Serenity Knolls is a 42 bed co-ed facility serving ages 18 and up. Included in the 42 bed capacity are 6 beds available for detox. Serenity Knolls is a 12 step based, social model residential treatment center. The Knolls uniquely combines the traditional social model of care with contemporary cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic and evidence based practice.What We're Looking For:Experience cooking for large groupsDependable, team-oriented, and flexibleWilling to commit to a minimum of 5, 8 hour shifts, at least one weekend day per week.Make a meaningful impact through food-apply today and join a team that nourishes both body and spirit.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Cook and prepare food according to approved menus.Direct activities of workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.Take inventory of supplies and equipment.Work with Food Service leadership or Dietitian to ensure menus are varied, nutritionally balanced and appetizing.Perform and coordinate food production, cleaning, maintenance, and inventory control activities.Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, cost parameters, and appropriate regulatory requirements.OTHER FUNCTIONS:* Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Additional education or training in the culinary field preferred.Two or more years' experience in food service role in preparing food for institutions, such as school, hospital or cafeteria preferred.LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:* ServSafe Certification or similar food safety certification, where required by the state, facility.While this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the requirements of the job, management reserves the right to add or remove duties from particular jobs when circumstances (e.g. emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technological developments) dictate.We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects the communities we serve.
