Rewinder Operator

Rewind OperatorThe Rewind Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring rewinding equipment to process finished materials according to customer specifications. This position ensures quality control during the rewinding process and maintains accurate documentation of production activities using internal systems. This Role can be 2nd shift 3 pm-11 pm, or 3rd shift, 11 pm-7 am.Key Responsibilities:Operate rewinding machinery safely and efficientlyReview and verify job jacket information for accuracy before starting productionEnter production data and maintain records in the ERP systemInspect materials for quality defects during the rewinding processMonitor tension control and material alignmentPerform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipmentFollow all safety protocols and proceduresCommunicate with team members regarding job status and quality issuesPackage and label finished products according to specificationsEducation & Experience:High School diploma or equivalent experience preferredPrevious manufacturing experience preferredRequired Skills:Basic computer proficiency, including emailAbility to read and interpret job specificationsProblem-solving and troubleshooting capabilitiesAbility to read and use measuring tools accuratelyBasic mathematical skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to read and write detailed reportsGood organizational skillsEffective communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAdditional Requirements:Must be 18 years of ageMust pass pre-employment assessment. Drug screening requiredBackground check requiredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Understanding of rewinding processes and equipmentKnowledge of quality control proceduresFamiliarity with PRISM softwareSafety protocols and proceduresProblem-solving and troubleshootingData entry and record keepingMaintain focus on detailed workWork independently and as part of a teamFollow written and verbal instructionsManage multiple tasks efficientlyPhysical Demands: The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include, but are not limited to:Must be able to lift and handle objects weighing up to 50 poundsCapacity to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to climb, kneel, bend, reach, and squatProficiency in grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor skillsVisual Acuity for product inspectionAbility to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)Use of ladders and other equipmentForklift certification or the ability to obtain forklift and pallet jacksTravel Requirements: Travel is not required in this position.Work Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to:Noise levels above 85 dBOperation of complex machinerySolvents, fumes, and inksVariable TemperaturesMust be able to work flexible shiftsMay require nights, weekends, and holidays.An additional $2.50/hr premium for hours worked on NIGHT Shift only (qualifying hours vary by location).Printpack is proudly an equal-opportunity employer.
