Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from accredited universityValid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements - Generalist or Core Subjects EC-6, ESL, STRDemonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned* Physical Education Teachers: Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificateSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of core academic subject assignedKnowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learningStrong knowledge of Internet and web-related technologyAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorAbility to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platformsStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to develop relationships and maintain consistent contact with students, parents, and colleaguesAbility to support students with computer set-up, navigation, and technology issuesExperience:Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experienceMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Instructional Strategies:Develop and implement lesson plans for in-person, distance, and virtual learning that fulfill the requirements of district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in individual student learning styles.Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students' assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.Assess student-learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.Plan and assign work to instructional aide(s) and oversee completion.Student Growth and Development:Conduct ongoing assessment and timely feedback of student achievement through formal and informal methods.Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
