Reporting directly to the Controller, this position operates in a hybrid role that blends hands-on accounting execution with project leadership, ensuring that new processes, systems, and business initiatives are designed correctly from an accounting, control, and reporting perspective from day one.This role owns accounting-related initiatives from concept through full operational deployment, personally executing key accounting work, building scalable and compliant processes, and transitioning solutions to the operational accounting team in a turnkey, sustainable state. The Senior Project Accountant acts as a trusted partner to Finance, IT, Operations, and Process Improvement teams and is expected to bring structure, accountability, and clarity within a fast-paced, high-growth consumer products environment.Location: Houston TX (on-site)Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Accounting OperationsPerform hands-on accounting activities necessary to support new business initiatives, including journal entries, reconciliations, account mappings, reporting, and system configuration.Own the accounting workstream for cross-functional projects, ensuring financial processes are accurately designed, executed, and aligned with Electrolit’s reporting and control standards.Partner closely with the Controller, Finance leadership, Operations, IT, and external stakeholders to execute accounting deliverables tied to business growth.Maintain full accountability for the accuracy, completeness, and quality of all accounting outputs related to assigned initiatives.Process Development & OptimizationDesign, document, and implement scalable accounting processes that support Electrolit’s growth, complexity, and evolving operational footprintIdentify inefficiencies, manual workarounds, and control gaps; recommend and implement practical, sustainable improvementsEnsure all newly developed workflows align with internal controls, compliance requirements, and segregation-of-duties standardsProvide financial and operational insights to support continuous improvement across project-based accounting activities.Systems & ImplementationSupport ERP and accounting system implementations, enhancements, and process changes across finance and operationsTranslate business requirements into effective accounting workflows and system configurationsParticipate in testing, validation, and go-live activities to ensure accounting accuracy and reporting integritySupport integration of new business processes, vendors, warehouses, or distribution channels into financial systemsTransition to OperationsEnsure new accounting processes are fully documented, tested, and operationally ready prior to transitionDevelop training materials and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for the operational accounting teamProvide post-implementation support to stabilize processes and ensure successful adoptionProject Coordination & GovernanceServe as the primary liaison between the accounting team and cross-functional project stakeholders, including IT and Process ImprovementCoordinate accounting activities to align with project timelines, milestones, and dependenciesTrack and manage accounting-specific deliverables, proactively communicating risks, constraints, or resource needsActively complete accounting deliverables as part of project execution—not simply coordinationEnsure accounting requirements are clearly defined, documented, and embedded into broader project plansKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong hands-on, execution-driven mindset with comfort operating in a build-and-improve environmentProven ability to design, document, and implement accounting processes in a growing organizationExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projectsStrong communicator capable of influencing cross-functional partners and explaining accounting concepts to non-finance audiencesHigh attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems (SAP experience a plus)Ability to meet routine month-end deadlines while supporting project-based workKnowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and project-based cost trackingUnderstanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis within a CPG or distribution-focused environmentQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field6+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with exposure to project-based work, process improvement, or system implementationsStrong foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial operationsExperience partnering with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environmentERP implementation or process transformation experience preferredCPA PreferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.Ability to lift or move office materials up to 10 pounds.Standard office environment with regular use of a computer, phone, and related equipment.The above statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the principal functions of the occupation and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherited in the occupation.Cab Enterprises Inc. is committed to maintaining a work environment that promotes diversity and is free of discrimination.
