We are looking for an experienced Fiber Optic Field Operations Manager who leads by example.
This is not a desk management position. This is a working manager role responsible for leading crews, maintaining production, ensuring quality, mentoring technicians, and serving as the primary field leader on rural fiber deployment projects.

What You'll Do
As our Field Operations Supervisor, you'll oversee daily field production while remaining actively involved in project execution.
Leadership
Lead multiple fiber deployment crew(s) in daily operations
Set production goals and ensure schedules are met
Mentor, train, and develop Fiber Lead Technicians and junior technicians
Conduct daily safety and production meetings
Maintain accountability for workmanship and project quality
Resolve field issues while keeping projects moving
Coordinate with OSP Project Managers and Construction Management
Technical Responsibilities
Perform and oversee fusion splicing
Review OTDR and power meter testing
Troubleshoot fiber network issues
Interpret fiber design maps and construction prints
Verify splice quality and testing documentation
Ensure as-built documentation is accurate
Operations
Manage company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment
Ensure crews follow company safety standards
Monitor labor productivity
Coordinate materials and logistics
Maintain accurate digital reporting and project documentation
Required Qualifications
5+ years of fiber optic construction experience
3+ years leading field crews
Strong fusion splicing experience
Advanced OTDR testing and troubleshooting experience
Experience with aerial and underground fiber construction
Ability to read fiber prints and network design documents
Experience using digital reporting platforms
Comfortable working from tablets and cloud-based software
Strong leadership and communication skills
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to travel up to 100%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supervising multiple crew(s)
Rural broadband deployment experience
Experience working with utility, municipal, or cooperative fiber projects
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
Experience with project scheduling and production reporting
