Denver Wellness is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (MA)We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The MA will play a crucial role in managing prescription refill and prior authorization requests, delivering exceptional customer service, collaborating with healthcare professionals, providing direct patient care, and contributing to the overall success of Denver Wellness Associates. The role will primarily be to address the various avenues of incoming prescription refill and prior authorization requests for patients, scheduling appointments, addressing patient balances as applicable, interacting with the patients during their treatments, and ensuring a safe administration of treatment as well as consistent patient experience. This role will act as an extension of the provider team, working closely with providers as well as the administrative staff.Medical Assistant Responsibilities:Processing prescription refill requests in real-time from patients and pharmacies via incoming calls, emails, website requests, and electronic prescription refill transmission within the EHRProcessing prescription prior authorizations and submitting them to patient's insurance for review and approvalFollowing established prescription refills protocols to ensure patient safety and medication refill accuracy is maintained at the highest levelMaintaining accurate documentation of all prescription refill interactions and requests, ensuring proper details are documented in the EHRCommunication to patients that an appointment is need for future refills per the prescription refill protocol in addition to scheduling patients for appointmentsNotifying patients of high balances and collecting payment according to office policies prior to providing further refillsCommunication with patients regarding the status of their prescription refills or prior authorizationsCommunication with providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies to support patients in receiving their medication in a timely mannerUnderstanding of insurance benefits, take patient payments, verify benefits, and support the billing team in gathering the information neededWorking collaboratively with the administrative and billing team to ensure all requirements of the procedures are fully metClerical duties such as patient check-in and checkout, record processing as requested, data verification, and interdisciplinary communication on the patient experienceAdministration, monitoring, and documentation of the Service Line treatments to include Transcranial Magnetic Therapy (TMS), Spravato, Ketamine, and Ketamine Assisted PsychotherapyConducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, cooperative, sensitive, respectful and kind with all patients, visitors, the public and all colleaguesAttends staff meetings as requiredMaintains certifications per state guidelinesPerforms duties to achieve or exceed established service standardsMedical Assistant Compensation & Benefits (Full-Time Employees are eligible for):Competitive Hourly Rate: $20-25/hr; paid bi-weekly401(k) retirement plan with employer match up to 4%Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and eligible dependentsHSA (with employer contribution) and FSA options to help manage healthcare and dependent care expensesEmployer-paid life insurance and AD&D coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) with confidential mental health and life support resourcesGenerous paid time off and additional paid holidaysRequirementsMedical Assistant Qualifications:Current and valid MA license in the state of Colorado.Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.CPR certificationMinimum of one year of experience working in the medical fieldKnowledge of TMS and/or Spravato would be an assetExperience with prescription refill and prior authorization managementBilling experienceStrong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Clinic or office experience preferredEMR knowledgeExcel and/or strong computer skillsAbout Denver Wellness AssociatesDenver Wellness Associates is a comprehensive mental health care practice dedicated to supporting individuals and families on their journey toward lasting well-being.
