Director of Public Relations
The Director of Public Relations helps shape and strengthen the presence of Swig across communities, media, and digital platforms. This role is responsible for developing and executing PR strategies that build Swigs’ awareness, support Swigs’ growth, and creates meaningful connections with customers, team members, and partners.The ideal candidate is unafraid to own and improve processes in a demanding environment. This person understands how to turn everyday moments into stories people want to talk about, and genuinely believes in creating positive experiences for others. This person will help bring our culture to life by championing our values of Positivity, Care, Hustle, and Owning It while helping lead our mission of Being a Daymaker in every interaction.HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT: Develop and execute public relations strategies that support Swig's goals, campaigns, store openings, and Swig initiativesBuild and maintain relationships with trade and industry publications as well as local, regional, and national media outlets and reportersWrite and distribute briefings, press releases, media pitches, talking points, and external communicationsCoordinate media coverage for grand openings, events, partnerships, and community involvement opportunitiesIdentify storytelling opportunities that highlight growth, culture, team members, guests, and community impactPartner with Marketing, Operations, Recruiting, and Leadership teams to ensure consistent brand messagingSupport reputation management efforts and assist with crisis communication when neededHelp amplify and protect the Swigs voice, culture, and values across all external communicationPartner to manage influencer, ambassador, and community partnership opportunitiesMonitor media coverage, social sentiment, and industry trendsTrack and report PR performance metrics and brand visibilityManage and/or coordinate with Swig’s external PR and marketing firmsCoordinate with Franchise PR Agency and manage the PR toolkit/playbook for franchisees, including providing PR training and media relationships. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field preferred8-10+ years of experience in public relations, communications, media relations, or brand marketingExperience in restaurant, QSR, hospitality, franchise, or retail industries preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong relationship-building and networking abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentCreative thinker with strong organizational skills and attention to detailExperience with social media trends and digital brand storytelling preferredExperience in crisis communicationsAbility to remain calm, proactive, and solutions-oriented in high-pressure situationsProfessional presence and ability to represent the Swig brand effectivelyWHO WE ARE: Swig is the fastest growing and most successful drink brand in America, going viral on TikTok with users driving miles for the dirty soda.
