This role integrates engineering analysis, asset management, regulatory compliance, and project execution to ensure system reliability, public safety, and uninterrupted service delivery.The ideal candidate brings experience in wastewater collection systems, pump stations, CSO management, CMMS-driven maintenance programs, and contractor oversight, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a regulated municipal environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide engineering oversight and project management for the operation and maintenance of wastewater collection systems, including:Gravity and force mains for a combined sewer systemPump stationsSolids/floatables screening facilitiesContractor management for major and miscellaneous repair projectsLead Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) management, monitoring, documentation, and regulatory reporting in compliance with NJDEP requirements.Apply civil and environmental engineering principles to system performance analysis, failure investigations, and corrective action development.Plan, direct, and coordinate field operations, maintenance programs, and capital support activities, aligning engineering priorities with operational execution.Manage and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support asset lifecycle tracking, preventive maintenance, and regulatory documentation.Oversee CCTV inspections, condition assessments, and data analysis to support sewer rehabilitation and improvement projects.Prepare and review engineering reports, including:Technical progress reportsInspection reportsQA/QC of field workAsset condition and maintenance documentationPump Station DesignDevelop work plans, staffing strategies, operating budgets.Supervise, mentor, and evaluate operations, and field staff; support recruiting, onboarding, and technical training initiatives.Manage procurement and contractor oversight, including specifications, scopes of work, technical reviews, invoice approvals, and performance monitoring.Implement and enforce safety programs and traffic control measures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and industry best practices.Serve as a technical lead during emergency response events, coordinating with municipalities, regulatory agencies, and the public.Investigate customer service requests and system complaints using root‐cause analysis and engineering diagnostics.Perform inspections of stormwater detention systems and FOG (Fats, Oils, and Grease) control systems.Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we'll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the world's most challenging Operations Management projects, together.#OMFS #BIA #OurJacobs #BoldlyMovingForward #ChallengeAccepted#LI-JA2Here's what you'll needExperience with municipal combined sewer collection systems, CSOs, and regulatory complianceLevel 4 NJDEP regulations Wastewater Collections System Operator License, or Level 3 and ability to obtain Level 4 within 1 year7+ years of experience in the construction, maintenance and operation of collection systems.Strong knowledge of pump station operations, sewer rehabilitation, and maintenance best practicesProven leadership experience managing field staff, contractors, and technical teamsIdeally, here's what you will also have:Excellent ability to multi-task, provide timely responses, and coordinate field work.PACP Certification or ability to obtain the certification within 1 year.Understanding of ArcGIS and data management.Basic electrical/mechanical knowledge involved in working on pump, motors, pump station controls, SCADA, and other equipment such as high velocity sewer cleaning equipment, power rodding, or other equipment used in removing debris from sewer pipe, and related equipment including line cleaning, TV inspection, and vactor truck and clam truck operation.Knowledge of safe work practices, supervisory training, principles of budget preparation and expenditure control and federal and state laws as they pertain to the water/wastewater industry.Working Conditions:Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
