About the Role
We're looking for a CNC Programmer with strong Mastercam skills who can program across our full range of milling work, 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis, on both vertical and horizontal machines. You'll take parts from print to finished program, design and specify fixturing as needed, and work closely with our production and quality teams to keep tight-tolerance jobs moving on schedule. You'll also provide DFM feedback to help customers and engineering improve manufacturability before parts hit the floor.
Responsibilities
Program milling operations in Mastercam across 3, 4, and 5-axis vertical and horizontal machines, from engineering drawings and models
Design and specify fixtures and workholding solutions to support efficient, repeatable setups
Select appropriate tooling, fixturing, and cutting strategies for both simple and complex geometries
Review program performance and identify optimization opportunities for cycle time and tool life
Troubleshoot and revise programs to resolve collisions, tolerance issues, and surface finish problems
Review prints and provide design-for-manufacturability (DFM) feedback, flagging features that are difficult, costly, or impossible to machine as drawn, and recommending alternatives
Collaborate with quality control on first-article inspection and dimensional verification
Maintain accurate program documentation and revision control
Read and interpret GD&T from blueprints
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of CNC programming experience in a production machine shop
Solid 3-axis Mastercam programming fundamentals, plus demonstrated, hands-on experience on 4 and 5-axis mills
Strong understanding of work offsets, tool axis control, and rotary/tilt setups for multi-axis machining
Experience programming on both vertical and horizontal machining centers
Experience designing or specifying fixtures/workholding for milling operations
Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T
Ability to identify manufacturability issues in a print and communicate practical design alternatives
Experience with tight-tolerance parts in metals (aluminum, steel, stainless); titanium experience a plus
Preferred Qualifications
Lathe/turning programming experience (Swiss machining a plus)
Experience in aerospace, semiconductor, or biotech manufacturing environments
Familiarity with CMM inspection processes
CAD experience for fixture design (SolidWorks or similar)
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
