The elementary teacher is responsible for creating an active learning environment in which students develop and refine their skills in mathematics, reading, writing, social studies, and science. Pairing the designated curriculum with lesson-planning autonomy, the Elementary teacher designs experiences that excite students and encourage them to actively explore, discover, and learn. Teachers within and across grade levels collaborate with one another to ensure that all Biome learners experience a wealth of opportunities and activities that promote understanding of the content, support their unique needs, and stimulate their interest in learning.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Create a range of activities and experiences that engage students and facilitate the development of their cognitive, social, and emotional skillsDesign lessons, assignments, and assessments that align with the Missouri Learning StandardsDifferentiate instruction and independent work to support the needs of each unique studentUse formative and summative data to inform planning and instructionEstablish a safe and nurturing learning environmentSet appropriate expectations and effectively manage the classroomClearly communicate individual student progress to families, classroom teachers, and the school principalParticipate in ongoing professional development as well as work individually and/or collaboratively to stay abreast of best practices in elementary educationComplete all job-related responsibilities in a timely and professional mannerRequirements:Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education Preferred skills and characteristicsStrong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsSelf-confident and resilientConsistent and reliableData-driven and results-orientedPlease include the following with your application:1.
