Position Type:EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR (ESY)/Extended School Year (ESY) - Site NurseDate Posted:2/20/2026Location:Elementary/Secondary SplitDate Available:06/29/2026Closing Date:04/30/2026POSITION:Extended School Year (ESY) - Site NurseLOCATION:Groveland Elementary SchoolLenape Middle SchoolAVAILABLE:*ESY Program runs for 5 weeks*06/29/2026 through 07/30/2026 (see hours below)*Training Days for faculty and support staff June 23-25, 2026*Dates subject to change based on school calendarCOMPENSATION:$50.00 p/hrHOURS:Elementary Monday-Thursday: 8:30 am - 3:00 pmSecondary Monday-Thursday: 7:30 am - 2:00 pmDESCRIPTION:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Gather, organize, and document medical information for all students and staff who attend the extended school year (ESY) program.Design medical forms and other documentation procedures to ensure the ESY nursing care process is compliant with state nursing standards, CBSD standing orders and school board approved policies.Review existing supply list, order supplies, and prepare the office to provide care and medical treatment to all students and staff for the weeks of ESY.Administer daily and per diem medications to students and staff and manage various, complex medical conditions of students.Administer daily gastric tube feedings and rescue medication per physician orders for students who do not have a 1:1 nurse.Perform urinary catheterization and other invasive procedures per physician orders for students who do not have a 1:1 nurse.Assist PCAs/EAs and classroom nurses with toileting, and transferring of students, including Hoyer lifts use.Respond to and manage all medical and behavioral emergencies; including but not limited to assessment of student/staff members, performing various nursing interventions, delegating required tasks to other responders, and collaborating with EMS, building supervisor and/or parents, families and or spouse.Inform and educate teachers and support staff of allergies and any relevant emergency medical information pertaining to their students; identify those who may require medical intervention or nursing involvement.Collaborate regularly with the head teacher and behavioral specialists to discuss any concerns, questions, or incidents regarding student's health and wellness.Assist teachers and staff with student centered activities.All other duties as assigned.Site Nurses are not permitted to take vacation time during the ESY Season.REQUIREMENTS:Licensed Practical/Registered NurseCurrent CPR/AEDRegistered Nurse preferred.PROCEDURE:Apply through the CBSD Employment Portal on or before April 30, 2026*.
