Job Overview
As a Lead Software Developer, you will apply advanced programming expertise to analyze requirements, develop technical solutions, design complex software applications, and support software integration and modernization efforts. You will work closely with users, analysts, programmers, and technical teams to ensure systems operate efficiently and effectively.

What You'll Do
Develop, modify, test, implement, and maintain complex software applications and computer programs
Analyze user requirements and programming specifications to develop effective software solutions
Investigate, evaluate, and recommend program design approaches and system enhancements
Design and implement complex program logic, interfaces, file structures, and data processing solutions
Develop programming specifications for software development initiatives
Analyze and resolve complex software defects, performance issues, and processing problems
Develop and maintain software documentation, technical specifications, testing procedures, and operating instructions
Coordinate software development activities with programmers, analysts, technical personnel, and end users
Support software integration, testing, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement efforts
Evaluate the impact of proposed changes on interconnected systems, programs, and business processes
Participate in design reviews, technical evaluations, and software architecture discussions
Support the development of specialized and customized software solutions
Ensure software solutions comply with established standards, requirements, and best practices
Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship to junior programmers and technical staff
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field
Eight (8) years of experience in software development, computer programming, application development, systems programming, or a related technical field
Advanced knowledge of programming principles, methodologies, and software development practices
Knowledge of systems analysis and software design concepts
Understanding of data structures, databases, file management, and systems integration principles
Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and develop effective software solutions
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently and manage complex assignments
Ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required
Preferred Experience
Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government programs
Experience developing and maintaining complex multi-user applications and systems
Experience supporting software modernization and system enhancement initiatives
Experience participating in systems analysis and software design activities
Experience leading software development efforts or mentoring junior programmers
