In this role, you will perform essential cardiac and thoracic procedures in a hospital-based setting, handling complex cases including CABG, valve repairs, and general thoracic surgeries. The position offers a 24-hour schedule with a focus on high-quality patient outcomes, collaboration with an expert anesthesia team, and support from ancillary staff well-versed in minimally invasive techniques. Required Skills: Valid Medical License and Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery or General Surgery with cardiac specialization Proven experience in adult cardiac surgery, including CABG and valve procedures Proficiency in thoracic surgeries such as VATS, tracheostomy, and lung biopsies Strong ICU management skills for high-risk patient cases Familiarity with EPIC EMR system Excellent teamwork, communication, and decision-making abilities Nice to Have Skills: Thoracic surgery experience beyond core requirements Experience with structural heart procedures and hybrid OR support First assist experience with endoscopic saphenous vein harvesting Advanced skills in minimally invasive techniques Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree from an accredited institution Completion of a Thoracic or Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship Minimum of 3 years of relevant surgical experience in a hospital setting Prior locum or temporary coverage experience is a plus Other Requirements: Credentialing timeframe estimated at 90 days Availability for 24/7 call coverage Ability to travel and obtain necessary licensure and certifications Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-volume hospital environment This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $19,500, along with comprehensive benefits including weekly pay via direct deposit, health coverage, paid sick time, licensure, certification, travel reimbursements, and a robust referral program.
