This role blends high-impact FP&A leadership with strong accounting expertise, supporting budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and performance insights—while helping ensure sound financial operations, compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement aligned with CWCU’s values of Respect, Compassion, Ethics, Integrity, and Humor.What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)Financial Planning & Analysis (70%)Partner with business units to develop forecasts, budgets, and long-range financial plansConduct scenario analysis, financial modeling, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate business initiatives and investment opportunitiesProvide actionable insights and recommendations to improve financial performance, efficiency, and member valuePrepare and present financial analysis to senior management and support strategic planning initiativesAdvocate for change and recommend improvements that benefit employees and membersDevelop, monitor, and report on key financial metrics, trends, and variances to support decisionsSupport the annual budgeting process, including data gathering, analysis, and presentation of budget vs. actual resultsDemonstrate a proactive, can-do attitude and commitment to accuracy and timeliness in reportingAudit, Compliance & Risk Management (15%)Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and submitting requested materialsSupport exam and audit preparation, including resolution of regulatory and audit findingsSupport compliance with Credit Union policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations through accurate reporting, analysis, and documentationIdentify and mitigate financial risks through proactive analysis and process improvementsMake sound decisions aligned with organizational priorities and the highest standards of ethics and integrityTraining, Mentorship & Team Collaboration (10%)Mentor and train accounting staff; provide guidance and support as neededFoster cooperation and collaboration within the accounting team to achieve department goalsEstablish and maintain effective relationships internally, with members, and with community partnersCommunicate clearly and concisely, tailoring messages to the audience and building rapport at all levelsSupport a culture of continuous learning, open dialogue, and shared achievementOther Duties (5%)Attend training sessions and stay updated on policies and regulatory requirementsPerform additional responsibilities as assigned, ensuring alignment with CWCU values and continuous improvementWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred)3+ years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, treasury, ALM, preferably within a financial institutionDemonstrated understanding of GAAP, financial institution accounting, and regulatory requirementsAdvanced proficiency in accounting and financial analysis tools (e.g., Great Plains, Excel, Power BI, or similar)Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholdersProven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentCommitment to CWCU’s core values and competencies, including integrity, respect, compassion, and continuous improvementWhat We OfferVacation: 2 weeks (Year 1), 3 weeks (Year 2), 4 weeks (Year 3)Paid time off: 10 paid holidays + 5 paid sick days annuallyBenefits: Medical, dental, and vision starting the 1st of the month after hire401(k): Employer match after 6 monthsIncentive: Semi-annual bonus up to 5% of annual salaryProfessional growth: Training and development supportWork style: Primarily remote; some in-person meetings are expected a few days each month after training.
