Software Engineer II- Java, AWS, MongoDB, CI/CD

GHX is seeking a Software Engineer with strong technical skills and growing experience in designing, developing, and delivering quality software solutions. The Software Engineer reports to the Manager of Engineering and will be responsible for the development of efforts toward the creation, implementation, and support of existing and next-generation software solutions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Java and the J2EE stack, have exposure to AWS cloud services, and developing skills in CI/CD pipelines and software design patterns.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems that align with business needs, creating flexible, reusable, and efficient solutionsTranslate ideas into clear code under the supervision of senior engineers, delivering code with high qualityContribute to technical design for features and stories, documenting work and adhering to IT control policiesWork collaboratively within the team and coordinate with cross-functional partners to address technical dependencies, review ideas and concerns, and deliver high-quality productsIdentify issues of limited scope, analyze their impacts, and resolve them independently or with guidance from senior team membersAdhere to best practices for design, development, testing, and Agile workflows in a collaborative environmentBuild professional relationships within the team to support effective collaboration and knowledge sharingDevelop understanding of software modules, their components, and interactions to support feature developmentQualificationsRequires a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in software developmentBS Degree in Computer Science, or similar work experience2+ years of experience developing solutions using Java, J2EE technologiesWorking knowledge of Cloud technologies, with AWS technologies including EC2, SNS, SQS, S3, Lambda being nice to haveExperience with Databases, with mongoDB, ElasticSearch and MYSQL being nice to haveExposure to Rules Engine and/or Event driven architectureFamiliarity and experience with AI tools and willingness to learn emerging technologiesUnderstanding of design best practices including performance and scalabilityExperience working in an AGILE/SCRUM environmentAble to work independently on well-defined tasks and collaboratively as part of a teamExperience successfully delivering moderate-complexity featuresStrong problem-solving and communication skillsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDelivers high-quality results on assigned tasks with attention to detail and commitment to excellenceCommunicates technical concepts clearly to team members and immediate stakeholdersCollaborates effectively within the team and with other departmentsDeveloping understanding of how individual work impacts the broader system and team goalsImplements solutions that follow established patterns and contributes ideas for improvementResponsive to internal team needs and demonstrates customer awarenessAdapts to changing conditions with flexibility and positive attitudeContributes to team success through reliable execution and willingness to learnApplies Agile/LEAN principles to daily work and seeks to improve personal efficiencyHas a strong hunger to learn, grow, and continually hone their craftThe compensation for this role is: $81,000-$108,000The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
