Service Tech

Job Description Position: Service Technician Purpose The HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, servicing, & repair of HVAC system and fireplaces in residential customer’s homes. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, thermostats, hearth products, and generators. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC equipment Perform emergency repairs and ensure timely response to service requests Collaborate with team members to improve overall system performance and efficiency Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities Ensure all parts are loaded and accounted for per each job Check work for errors and correct them if necessary Maintain a professional appearance with clients and customers Abide by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental agencies Ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected Stay updated on industry advancements and new HVAC technologies Other duties as assigned Work Hours This is a non-exempt position. Work hours to be determined based on the needs of the business. Overtime may be required to meet business needs. Competencies This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service standards in stressful situations. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written. This position requires a self-starter with excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and mechanical aptitude. Education and Experience This position requires a high school diploma and/or any equivalent of education and experience to meet the essential functions of the job. Must have a valid driver’s license and remain insurable under our company insurance policy. Work Environment Frequently works in outside weather conditions. May be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures and/or conditions. Occasionally exposed to hot, wet and/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Moderately loud noise level while in the field. Occasionally exposed to dark, confined workspaces such as attics or crawl spaces. May be required to perform work from ladders and heights. Physical Demands Moderate to heavy working conditions. Frequently required to stand, talk and hear. Constantly required to use hand and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Periods of prolonged standing may be required. Supervisory Responsibility Supervisory responsibilities as assigned. Travel Regular travel should be expected between Evergreen Gas Heating and Cooling and job sites. Travel to be expected primarily during normal business hours. Must have a valid driver license and clean driving history. Able to pass a background and drug screening Competencies Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time. Must have excellent organizational skills. Must have good oral and written communications skills. Observe all company procedures and safety rules. Work as part of our team to ensure customer satisfaction. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must have basic computer skills and be able to utilize mobile device throughout the work day.
