Job Summary As a medical assistant at Recovery Works NW, you will support medical staff, ensuring smooth operation of the medical department, serve as the point of contact between the medical providers and patients whenever possible, and work closely with other support staff to ensure a positive patient experience. Schedule Monday-Friday Full-Time Start: 8:45am End: Various ending times between 3-6pm (depending on day of week and location) Location Must be able to float between any of our Tri-County area locations see link below: https://www.recoveryworksnw.com/locations We are also opening a location in Clackamas on SE McLoughlin Benefits · Medical insurance base tier premium is paid 100% by the company (option to upgrade to 2 additional tiers and/or add family members which are paid for by employee) · Dental and Vision Insurance premium is paid 100% by the company ·Holiday Pay ·PTO accrual and ·401k and 401k matching of up to 3% after 3 months Responsibilities: Rooming patients, collecting initial information from the patient in preparation for seeing the provider, taking vital signs, specimen collection, submitting prior authorizations for medication, taking COWS, giving injections, speaking to patients and community partners on the phone, documenting encounters in EMR. Ensures a safe and clean working environment and adheres to standard infectious disease control policies as published by Centers for Disease Control. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED certificate. Completion of a Medical Assistant program. Medical Assistant Certification candidates preferred. 2 years Medical Assistant experience required. Significant and/or relevant Medical Assistant experience preferred. Personal and/or professional familiarity with addiction is highly valued but not required. Essential skills and abilities Phlebotomy and injection experience required. Must be able to remain calm and professional in high-stress and high-emotion situations; professional de-escalation experience is valued. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Conveys enthusiasm and positive attitude. Good problem solving and teamwork skills. Ability to empathize with diverse patient population. Good computer skills with Microsoft Office and EMR. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
