Adjunct Psychiatric Technician Instructor

Job DescriptionDESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:Responsible to the Dean of Applied Academics and the Director of Nursing, Allied Health for the performance of assigned responsibilities. The instructor provide education in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, class schedules, and Governing Board policies; evaluate progress of students concerning educational matters, develop and assess student learning outcomes, and perform other instructional duties as assigned.Required QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors in Psychiatric Technology at California Community Colleges:Any associate degree and six years of full-time occupational experience in the related field ORAny bachelor's degree and two years of full-time occupational experience in the related field ORThe equivalent ORPossess a California Community life credential in the subject matter area.In addition, must have A or B below:(A) Registered Nurse1. Hold a current active license as a Registered Nurse AND2. Have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a registered nurse; one year shall be in teaching or clinical supervision, OR a combination thereof, in a state accredited or approved registered nursing, or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five (5) years; OR a minimum of three years experience in nursing administration or nursing education within the last five (5) years.(B) Licensed Psychiatric Technician1. Hold a current active license as a psychiatric technician; AND2. Have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a psychiatric technician; one (1) year shall be in teaching or clinical supervision, or a combination thereof, in a state accredited or approved psychiatric technician school within the last six (6) years; or have a minimum of three (3) years experience in mental health administration or education within the last six (6) years.
