We are hiring creative, motivated, and talented people with a passion for doing what's right, what's smart, and what works.Description/Job SummaryThe Environmental Compliance Technical & Policy Lead provides senior-level leadership and subject matter expertise to support environmental compliance, policy development, and mission readiness within Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy (DASN(E)). This role integrates environmental requirements with installation resilience, energy, and water programs to ensure compliance with federal laws while sustaining operational readiness. The Lead advises on regulatory frameworks, supports high-level policy development, and ensures alignment between environmental programs and Navy strategic objectives, including risk reduction and mission assurance.Position ResponsibilitiesLead environmental compliance and policy support across DON installationsProvide expertise on federal environmental laws, regulations, and DoW directivesIntegrate environmental considerations into energy and water resilience strategiesSupport development of policies, guidance, and Secretariat-level taskersOversee preparation of reports to Congress and senior leadershipProvide technical oversight of environmental restoration, conservation, and compliance programsAdvise on environmental risks affecting mission readiness and infrastructureCoordinate with regulatory agencies, DoW stakeholders, and external partnersSupport strategic planning, data analysis, and program evaluationDevelop executive briefings, white papers, and policy memorandaQualifications, Skills, and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, policy, or related field~14 years of experience in environmental compliance, policy, or program leadershipDeep knowledge of federal environmental regulations (e.g., NEPA, Clean Water Act, CERCLA)Experience supporting DoW or federal environmental programsStrong leadership, analytical, and communication skillsExperience advising senior executives and supporting high-level taskersAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearancePreferred Qualifications: Experience with Navy or Marine Corps environmental programsFamiliarity with Environment & Mission Readiness (E&MR) frameworksAdvanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in environmental policy, law, or engineeringExperience with environmental restoration, conservation, and compliance auditsKnowledge of installation resilience integration (energy, water, infrastructure)Experience supporting Congressional engagements or regulatory negotiationsBenefitsThe following benefits are available to benefit-eligible employees (working 30+ hours per week):Medical BenefitsDental BenefitsVision BenefitsRetirement PlanCompany paid Basic Life, Long-Term Disability and Short-Term DisabilityFlexible Spending AccountPaid Time Off/ 11 Federal HolidaysProfessional and Educational DevelopmentAnd other benefitsAll positions require a background check after acceptance of our offer.
