Job DescriptionSeeking a Licensed Architect for a firm that works with clients across the United States to combat the affordable housing crisis by reimagining construction with world-class innovation. They define success by constructability and achieve it through highly coordinated BIM models and a carefully executed quality control plan.This position is preferably located in our Nampa, Idaho office or McKinney, Texas office, open to Hybrid.As a Licensed Architect, you'll begin in a Design Lead role within a collaborative, production-focused environment. You'll lead architectural design efforts, direct designers and BIM modelers, and coordinate closely with engineering and integration teams to deliver constructable, code-compliant projects. This role emphasizes disciplined execution, coordination, and accountability while progressing toward formal responsibility as Architect of Record.Your responsibilities will include:Design Execution - Lead project design efforts under the guidance of the AOR, directing the work of designers and BIM modelers and utilizing technical problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles for on-time delivery of quality, code-compliant deliverables.Document Control - Finalize drawing sets for AOR signature and client delivery, conducting a page-by-page check for common formatting and minor QC errors, and ensuring files are properly formatted, named, bookmarked, and stored per standards.Interdisciplinary Coordination - Coordinate with internal disciplines to resolve discipline-specific technical and coordination issues, promoting strong collaboration and constructable designs.Client & Stakeholder Communication - Lead discipline-specific coordination and communication with clients, consultants, and agencies, ensuring responsiveness and clear, proactive engagement.Workflow Management - Execute work in accordance with the firm's sprint-based workflow and quality control procedures, ensuring on-time, high-quality deliverables.Career Progression:As you grow in this role, you'll advance through a defined professional path within the architectural discipline:Architecture Design Lead (4-10 years): Lead architectural design execution under the guidance of the Architect of Record, directing designers and BIM modelers, coordinating across disciplines, managing document control, and ensuring on-time delivery of coordinated, code-compliant documents within the firm's production-focused workflow.Architect of Record (10+ years): Assume responsible charge for architectural design, including signing and sealing documents, owning discipline-level quality assurance and risk management, mentoring design leads and designers, and contributing to architectural standards and continuous improvement efforts.RequirementsMinimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) or Master of Architecture (MArch) from a NAAB-accredited university.Licensure: Active architectural license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Candidates may also be considered if they are able to obtain licensure within the first six months of employment.Experience: 4+ years of building design experience, including experience serving as a design lead or project architect on multiple concurrent projects.Technical Skills: Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam.Code Knowledge: Strong understanding of applicable building and energy codes, including the International Building Code (IBC), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), California Building Code (CBC), International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), and California Energy Code (CEC).Preferred Qualifications:Design Leadership Experience: Prior experience functioning as a design lead or project architect responsible for directing designers and coordinating deliverables.Production-Focused Environment: Experience working in production-focused or highly coordinated design environments where constructability, efficiency, and schedule discipline are emphasized.Construction Phase Experience: Experience supporting projects through permitting, bidding, submittals, RFIs, and construction administration.Skills & Abilities:Document Control & Quality: Strong ownership of drawing accuracy, organization, and completeness, with the ability to maintain consistent quality across multiple projects and deliverables.Interdisciplinary Coordination & Communication: Ability to coordinate effectively and communicate clearly with architecture, engineering, integration, and project management teams to resolve technical and constructability issues.Professional Judgment & Accountability: Demonstrates sound decision-making, follow-through, and personal accountability for design outcomes and project commitments.BenefitsImagine an employer committed to offering an unmatched employee experience; a company where you work on projects that are meaningful to you; a workplace where you are invited to shape your career journey; a team where coworkers are invested in you and your success; an environment where you are encouraged and supported to do your very best and given the tools and resources to do so; and a culture where the company's top priority is to take care of you and your family.
