Energy Efficiency Engineer

We are hiring an Energy Efficiency Engineer at Energy 350 to join our Energy Trust of Oregon team serving the manufacturing sector in Oregon.This team of Energy Efficiency Engineers works with industrial and agricultural customers across Oregon to identify, analyze, and verify energy savings projects while facilitating Energy Trust of Oregon incentives.Key Details:Location: Our office is in Portland. We are flexible on location between Portland and Medford along the I-5 corridor.Travel: Positions serve our Energy Trust of Oregon territory with up to 50% day travel to sites.Base Pay: Full base pay range is $85,000 - $140,000 commensurate with skills and experience. Our target hiring range is at or below mid-point to allow for growth and internal equity. To learn more, check out our website: https://www.energy350.com/Position Overview: The Energy Efficiency Engineer is responsible for working with commercial and industrial customers to identify projects to reduce energy usage, quantify energy savings, and facilitate utility incentives. This includes a lot of problem solving, collaboration and interaction with coworkers, customers, vendors, and clients.A typical day may include:Conducting deep-dive technical energy efficiency studies of commercial and industrial mechanical systemsAdministering Energy Trust of Oregon’s Industry and Agriculture energy efficiency incentive programOutreaching to and engaging customers and contractors in the regional industrial communityWorking with industrial customers to scope and develop energy efficiency projectsPerforming high-level energy engineering analyses to inform customer decision-makingPerforming retrocommissioning / building controls optimization effortsWorking with mechanical contractors to scope energy efficiency projects and communicating utility incentive program requirementsConducting on-site measurement and verification of energy projectsWriting clear and concise technical reports for technical and non-technical audiencesSupporting Strategic Energy Management (SEM) at industrial sitesQualifications:We are looking for people with a wide range of technical and soft skills. Our engineers are excellent communicators who can deep-dive into a technical analysis while seeing the big picture of each project.Ideal candidates will have many of the following skills and experience:Engineering degree and/or great experience requiredAt least 2 years’ experience in the energy efficiency or mechanical engineering fieldWorking knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems and building scienceExperience analyzing commercial and industrial energy systems and quantifying annual energy savingsExperience conducting ASHRAE Level II AuditsAbility to identify mechanical and electrical equipment in the field and explain control methods and what retrofits or changes can be implemented to conserve energyA high energy, self-starter with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skillsCapability of working autonomously and collaboratively on a team, with good project and time management skillsExcellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skillsExcellent Excel skillsP.E., EIT, and/or CEM preferredEnergy 350 is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
