Associate CNC Operator (2nd shift)

CNC OperatorHitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated CNC Operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC. Please note: This is a second shift position. Work hours will be from 4:00pm to 2:30am - Monday through Thursday. The CNC Operator is responsible for performing the set-up, autonomous maintenance and operation of CNC machinery utilizing a variety of tools and established Hitachi Rail programs. The Operator will ensure that parts meet or exceed company specifications based on engineering changes and other manufacturing and technical documentation.AccountabilitiesRead and interpret blueprints, work orders, and other technical documentsSet-up and operate CNC machines, to include lathes, milling machines, etc.Perform autonomous maintenance on equipment, such as tool and fluid changesVisually and manually inspecting parts and workmanship for defects using measuring tools and gauges, ensuring they meet quality standardsLoad and assess tool quality, and assist in troubleshooting machine issuesFollow the 5S policy, keeping the work area clean and organizedInspect work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance, to include HSE critical requirements and great attention to detailSupport other departments as needed, including assembly work and paintingAdhere to safety and quality guidelines and company policiesMust have the ability to:Obtain Powered Industrial Trucks (e.g. forklift, pallet jack, etc.) CertificationFollow instructions, communicate effectively and document work activitiesMeasure parts and identify defectsTrain Associate level operatorsLift, stand, walk, and work on concrete surfaces for extended periods of timeLift or lower items weighing < 24lbs (10.9kg) and Push or Pull efforts < 42lbs (19kg)Work the second shift - 4:00pm to 2:30am Monday through Thursday.Required skills/experience:4+ years of Associate CNC Operator or similar experienceExperience operating overhead and jib cranesUnderstand the use of CAD/CAM software in CNC operationsFamiliarity with Metrology tools (e.g. hardness and stress testing)Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP Enterprise SoftwareDesired skills/experience:CNC programming experienceKnowledge of Hitachi Rail productsEducation: High school diploma or GED equivalentLanguage: English ProficiencyBenefits: Hitachi Rail employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Competitive Pay, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Short & Long Term Disability, Life & Accident Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, a Retirement Savings Plan, and Paid Vacation.
