Job Description Job Title: CNC Operator Shift: 2nd Shift – 2:30pm-10:30pm – Monday-FridayPOSITION SUMMARY: Advanced position responsible for operating and executing advanced CNC machine set-up and programming. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Advanced machine operation including set up • Loads raw materials and unloads completed parts • Required to operate multiple machines simultaneously • Selects set-up of appropriate tooling & fixtures • Adjusts tooling & work offsets • Troubleshoot current programs and performs significant editing of current programs • Basic program development • Perform inspections on own work & co-worker’s work • Able to make adjustments to assure dimensions tolerances, quality and highest accuracy of parts • Able to run and setup all machines in department • Motivated and works on continuous improvement including processes, productivity, quality, and safety. • Good technique and use of measurement tools i.e. snap gage, micrometers, digital caliper, optical comparator, and etc. • Good use and understanding of QMS, MAX & SPC data bases as necessary • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment including top-off lubricants • Helps establish procedures as well as follows quality and safety standards; a proven quality record • Promotes a clean shop and work environment as well as cleaning responsibilities including equipment, chip removal, and work area • Cooperates fully with others within and outside the department; assists others. • Communicates delays and problems effectively and timely • Works under minimal supervision • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Effective communication and interpersonal skills • Strong problem solving skills • Self-motivated • Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude • Good functional knowledge of trigonometry, geometry and basic math • Good troubleshooting skills • Solid understanding of machining practices • Advanced understanding of CNC programming language • HS Degree or GED • Advanced manufacturing/machining training and/or certification or 3+ years manufacturing & machining experience preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms • Frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, carry, push/pull • Frequently required to use repetitive wrist and hand movements • May be required to push, pull and use assisted lift objects of up to 50 pounds • Hearing, seeing ability to include depth perception, peripheral vision and rapid mental coordination
