We are focused on providing our talented employees with the resources they need to provide the best service possible to our clients.Civil Engineer – Charlotte, NC or Columbia, SCParrish & Partners is seeking a civil engineer with 2+ years of general civil engineering experience in hydrology/hydraulics, site development, and/or roadway design. This position will work across multiple engineering disciplines and be responsible for performing a variety of design tasks associated with transportation projects. Specific projects may include interstate/interchanges, roadway widening, bridge replacements, utility re-location projects, and site design. The individual should possess good communication skills, be able to solve difficult or complex technical problems, enjoy working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment, work independently, and be capable of working with team members in multiple office locations.Duties:Collecting and analyzing project dataPerforming design for hydrology and roadways disciplinesPerform engineering design tasks related to drainage and stormwater design, modeling, and permittingWork on complex hydraulic analysesLeading or assisting in the development of plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents/reportsCalculating quantities and developing cost estimatesProducing a complete plan setWorking with other design disciplinesPerform field data collection activities that may involve moderate physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, and climbing in varied environments (wet, wooded, cold, hot, humid, noisy, high traffic)Perform at a high level for 8 hours per day. Additional hours may be necessary on occasions in order to meet project deadlinesOccasional overnight travel may be requiredMinimum Qualifications:2+ years of experience in transportation, focusing on hydrology and/or roadway B.S. in Civil Engineering EIT / EI registration (or passed FE exam)Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, and OpenRoads DesignerValid Driver's LicensePreferred Qualifications:AutoCAD/Civil 3D experienceExperience with hydrology/hydraulics software programs to include SWMM, HEC-HMS (or related), HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, HY8, etc.Basic understanding of SCDOT standard drawings, specifications, and design criteriaExcellent math calculation skillsExperience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)Benefits package includes:Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance with low premiums401(k)HSA with generous company contributionCompany paid short-term disabilityCompany paid long-term disabilityCompany paid life insuranceVacation leaveSick leaveHolidaysEstablished in 2013, Parrish & Partners is a recognized SC Best Place to Work and NC Best Employer.
