OverviewFull-Time pay beginning at $27.25 per hourOvertime paid at time and a half after 40 hoursProfessional, positive and people-centered work environmentLocal daytime workOpportunity for Class A advancement!Stable and growing organizationCompetitive weekly payQuality HoursModern facilitiesClean, late model equipmentComprehensive benefits package: Health, Dental, Vision, AD&D, etc.Paid holidays (8); paid vacation and personal days401(k) plan, Company MatchResponsibilitiesClass B P&D Drivers are responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers and our customers.Perform pre and post trip inspections on the tractor and trailer that is being utilizedProperly document all freight control processesRead and understand maps, road signs, shipping papers, hazardous materials markings and labeling identificationsAffix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessaryMaintain cleanliness of company vehicleAssist customers in preparation of shipping papersInteract and converse with external/internal customersSafely operate a forklift to unload/ load products when indicated and needed.Participate in Dayton Freight's training and improvement programsBe available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignmentsAdhere to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker ManualQualificationsAt least 22 years of ageAt least 1 year of commercial driving experienceValid Class B CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank EndorsementsValid DOT Physical/Medical CardNo DUI, Citation/Conviction for Reckless Operation in the past 3 yearsLess than 2 moving violations in the past 3 yearsBasic math skillsFluent in EnglishAble to pass a drug screenPhysical DemandsThis position requires the ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle and perform physical tasks associated with driving, equipment inspections, and local pick-up and delivery operations. Duties may include standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, ascending and descending from the vehicle, and handling freight and delivery equipment, with occasional manual handling of materials and use of powered tools or devices. * The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
