Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is seeking a compassionate, student-centered Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students with behavioral, social-emotional, and academic needs within the school environment. The RBT will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and in collaboration with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to implement behavior intervention plans and support positive student outcomes. Qualifications: Must possess a valid certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Must hold a current Paraprofessional License registered through ROE 9. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in a variety of data collection methods. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Prior experience working with children or individuals with special needs preferred. Experience implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and working with challenging behaviors is highly desirable. Must be able to pass a physical abilities assessment. Responsibilities: Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the direction of a BCBA or designated supervisor. Provide direct behavioral support to students in classroom and school settings. Collect and maintain accurate behavioral and student progress data. Assist students with developing social, communication, self-regulation, and functional skills. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to promote positive behavioral supports and interventions. Support students during transitions, classroom instruction, lunch, recess, transportation, and other school activities as needed. Assist in de-escalation and crisis intervention when necessary. Maintain professional communication with staff and families regarding student progress and behavioral supports. Participate in training, team meetings, and professional development activities.
