IP Docketing Administrator
Location: Boston Metro, MA | Hybrid - 2 remote days/weekPay Range: $85K-$95KSchedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 9-5Position OverviewA highly respected law firm is seeking a Docketing Administrator to join its Intellectual Property team. This role supports complex patent and trademark processes and offers the opportunity to build deep expertise in IP docketing, USPTO procedures, and global patent filings.If you bring 2–3 years of experience in IP docketing, strong familiarity with PCT filings, and hands-on USPTO electronic filing skills, this role empowers you to step into a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment where your accuracy and initiative will make a direct impact.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree preferred2+ years of IP docketing experienceStrong knowledge of USPTO and WIPO procedural requirementsHands-on USPTO electronic filing experienceKnowledge of foreign filing and national phase entry proceduresProficiency in Microsoft OfficeStrong written communication and proofreading skillsCollaborative, organized, and adaptableAbility to manage multiple deadlines within a fast-paced workflowCommitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalismKey ResponsibilitiesThe IP Docketing Administrator provides essential support to patent and trademark attorneys and senior paralegals, including:Preparing US and PCT application filing papers such as Declarations, Assignments, and Powers of AttorneyDrafting US prosecution documents, including Office Action responses, petitions, corrected papers, and fee submissionsDrafting PCT follow-on filings, including responses to Invitations, Powers of Attorney, and other required communicationsPreparing instructions to foreign associates for national phase entries and ensuring all formality requirements are metPreparing US and foreign filing estimates and advance invoicesReviewing incoming correspondence and taking responsive actionCoordinating with vendors for formal drawings and document legalizationProviding backup trademark support, including USPTO filings and correspondence updatesManaging daily docketing for US and foreign patent and trademark mattersResolving docket issues and maintaining accurate deadlinesReviewing weekly deadline reports and obtaining required information from attorneysSupporting annuity management, including payments and deadline trackingConducting regular quality control audits on the docket databasePerforming additional duties as assigned by the IP ManagerApply TodayIf you're ready to elevate your career within a top-tier intellectual property environment and you thrive on precision, pace, and purpose, apply today and take the next step toward advancing your IP expertise.Founded in 1969, JOHNLEONARD, a woman-owned business, is the premier staffing choice in Boston and beyond.
