Electrician
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for installing and maintaining electrical systems. This person reads and interprets electrical blueprints and schematics and executes plans of electrical wiring. In accordance with client specifications, electricians build and install low voltage electrical systems, control and power distribution panels and electrical equipment. This position reports to the Superintendent of the jobsite.
Essential Skills & Duties:
Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring.
Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components.
Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and technical diagram standards.
Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning.
Use of hand and power tools.
Adhere to state and local building regulations.
Ensure adequate inventory of materials and supplies.
Calibrate equipment to proper specifications.
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components.
Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs.
Identify and mitigate safety hazards, code violations and other electrical issues.

Layout and Plan Reading
Circuitry and Conductors
Panel and Gear Terminations
Lighting and lighting control installations
Device installation, basic fire alarms installation, box sizing and selections, grounding, and terminations.
Key Competencies & Qualifications:
Electrician apprenticeship program at Delta Electrician or at a technical/trade school preferred
5+ years of electrical experience
Valid driver's license in state of practice
Knowledge of NEC Codes
Knowledge of OSHA compliance on the job site
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel.
Ability to work at heights and climb a ladder safely.
Trained on OSHA 10, Arc Flash, Aerial Lifts, Forklift and LOTO
Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
Ability to perform electrical tests, read results and diagnose and repair electrical problems.
Problem Solving and Critical thinking is a must. Troubleshooting electrical issues.
Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work.
Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems.
Willing to work overtime.
