A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Tele Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • Weekend requirement of 5-6 weekend shifts in 6-week schedule (Friday/Saturday nights) • 2 years of nursing experience required, prior travel experience preferred but not required • Must have post-procedural cardiac experience including cath lab, ablations, and open heart procedures • PCU and stepdown experience preferred • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips and document appropriately (2x per shift) • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS • Float between 3rd floor (20 beds) and 7th floor (35 beds) telemetry units as needed • Maintain 1:4 nurse to patient ratio • Care for cardiac-focused patients on 3rd floor including post-op day 1 open heart, TAVRs, ablations, post caths, and pacemakers • Care for general telemetry patients on 7th floor including post-procedural overflow, CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, and post-stroke patients • Manage heparin and insulin drips (training provided for insulin if needed) • Handle set-rate cardiac drips including amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine • First to float to other medical-surgical, medical-surgical telemetry, or telemetry units within hospital system • May be asked to work holidays but not expected to work every holiday • Any color scrubs permitted • 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation (1 on each floor) • Epic charting system • Schedule created 6 weeks at a time with maximum 5 shifts in a row • Cancellation policy allows 4 shifts per 13-week assignment Facility: This major medical center is a traveler-friendly acute care facility that treats traveling nurses like permanent staff members.
