Join us in our mission to provide comprehensive support to those navigating the challenges of cancer treatment.Position OverviewThe Lead Referral Coordinator provides support to Referral Coordinators while helping to facilitate excellent customer service and efficient workflows. This role is responsible for monitoring incoming orders and ensuring adherence to guidelines for scheduling appointments with specialists, consults, and radiology services, while assisting with day-to-day operations of the Patient Access Services team.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide support to the outside orders team in the absence of the Supervisor of Patient Access ServicesAssist in training and orienting new and existing employeesOversee daily department functions including phone coverage, scheduling, and staff presenceMonitor supplies and notify management when replenishment is neededOversee equipment service needs and coordinate repairs as necessaryProvide direction to staff regarding scheduling questions or issuesMonitor and assign work tasksUpdate patient information as neededProvide feedback and recommendations to management regarding employee performanceMonitor staff adherence to departmental and organizational policies and proceduresMaintain professionalism and ensure confidentiality of patient and employee informationCollaborate with management, support teams, and staffPerform all other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation & Experience Required:Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the healthcare industry and/or customer service environment or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of payer networks and guidelinesPreferred:Prior management experienceSkills & AbilitiesExcellent organization and follow-up skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to organize and prioritize work assignmentsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbility to analyze situations and respond in a timely mannerAbility to work in multi-functional teamsAbility to assist in overseeing the work performance of othersAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships within West Cancer CenterAbility to assist in implementing new processesProficiency in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and emailWhy West Cancer Center is a Great Place to WorkMeaningful Impact: Play a direct role in supporting patients through one of the most challenging times of their lives.Collaborative Culture: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals committed to improving cancer care.Professional Development: Benefit from ongoing training, educational resources, and growth opportunities.Mission-Driven Environment: Be part of an organization guided by compassion, integrity, and innovation.No nights, weekends, or holidays.
