Our commitment to our core values and dedication to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment, allows the firm to attract and retain the brightest in the industry.Job OverviewBlank Rome is searching for a Practice Reporting and Analytics Manager to join the firm’s data and insights-driven Innovation and Value team.The Practice Reporting and Analytics Manager, plays a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and guide firm attorneys and leadership decision making. Reporting directly to the Chief Innovation and Value Officer and collaborating closely with the Chief Financial Officer, the Manager will lead practice group and client (business unit) reporting and analysis and will work cross functionally with other firm operational departments and firm leaders.This role has a hybrid working arrangement. Potential candidates must live within commuting distance of a Blank Rome office (Dallas or Philadelphia) to be onsite 3 days per week. In this role, you will report to the Chief Innovation and Value Officer.Essential FunctionsCollaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, develop and produce a series of standard reporting of practice, timekeeper, client, and partner metrics, making recommendations for reporting enhancements or ad hoc analysis to guide decision making.Mine data and conduct analysis, leveraging exploratory data analysis, predictive analytics, and data visualization. Ensure accurate data gathering and probes for inconsistencies and trends in information.Understand and extract meaning from complex data relationships and develops reports to enable effective use of the resulting knowledge.Conduct analysis to identify trends and opportunities for performance improvement - designing projects, goals, and outcomes to drive key initiatives forward to improve firm results. Focus on automation of current processes to scale for the future, working with relevant functions to enhance the quality and reliability of processes and tools.Effectively communicates findings and complex analytical solutions customized to a variety of audiences from financial professionals to practice group leaders using concise presentations, dashboards or reports that tell the story of findings from analytics.Analyze financial data and reports on performance against key indicators for firm clients, matters, timekeepers, and practices; identifies trends and challenges; and makes recommendations to improve performance.Manage request intake and workflow allocation for financial analyst(s).Collaborate with Financial Systems Team and Technology teams to develop automated reports for firm stakeholders.Serve as subject matter expert for the department on the firm’s financial analysis tools, assisting team members as needed to enhance their cube and analytics capabilities.Lead financial modeling for lateral group and lateral attorney opportunities, collaborating with the recruiting team and recruiting partners to construct and edit financial models.Collaborates with Innovation team to develop client-facing data analytics.Performs other responsibilities as assigned.Works additional hours as needed to fulfill job requirements.The above essential functions represent the general nature and level of responsibilities for this position and is not intended to be an all-inclusive list. The firm may modify and amend any job description at any time in its sole discretion.Skills/Qualifications5+ years demonstrated track record of performance in financial management roles (working alongside client facing business units. Law firm experience preferred.Bachelor’s degree required. Concentration in finance, math, statistics, computer science, information management, or related analytical field. MBA preferred.Experience developing and supervising analysts is required.Well-developed skills in advanced data or business analytics and statistic tools (SSRS) and data query languages including SQL and reporting including MDX. Broad exposure to navigating the aggregation of various large data sets for purpose of analysis.Experience with law firm financial management systems (i.e., Elite 3E, Aderant Expert, etc.) preferred.Advanced Excel and modeling skills, along with a solid understanding of relational databases and ability to communicate and work with IT personnel to implement changes and improvements.Proficiency in the use of PowerPoint and other MS Office suite programs, with experience in preparing analyses utilizing charts/graphs and tables to present metrics.Ability to use data mining and analysis to compile and creatively display data.
