The ideal candidate will lead a structured, scalable, and risk-based approach to quarterly monitoring of vendor payments and disbursements, identifying, preventing, and resolving improper payments, and driving recovery efforts where applicable. If you are looking for the next step in your career, apply now!Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and implementation of a scalable Improper Payments Program (IPP) to monitor and reduce payment risk across Accounts PayableConduct risk assessments and develop data-driven testing strategies to identify fraud, errors, duplicate payments, and control gapsAnalyze vendor payments and disbursements using advanced analytics to detect anomalies and improper transactionsEvaluate and strengthen internal controls, including process documentation, gap analysis, and control effectiveness testingDeliver reporting, dashboards, and executive-level insights with actionable recommendations for process improvement and recovery opportunitiesKey RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; active CPA required5+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or AP controls, including building or managing improper payment programsStrong expertise in Accounts Payable processes, internal controls, and risk assessment methodologiesAdvanced data analysis and querying skills with experience in ERP systems (Tier 1 preferred)Proven experience with statistical sampling, audit testing, and applying analytics to detect fraud, waste, and abuseThis job is Hybrid Remote.
