Network Engineer

Endurance IT Services is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, build, and support enterprise server environments that power business-critical systems for a client in Newport News! This role focuses on server infrastructure, virtualization, storage, and performance, working closely with networking, security, and cloud teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in both technical work and strategic infrastructure improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and maintain Windows server environmentsManage virtualization platforms (VMware)Administer and optimize server storage solutions (SAN / NAS)Critical Infrastructure SecurityPerform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle managementMonitor server performance, availability, and capacityTroubleshoot complex server and storage issues across environmentsImplement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutionsCollaborate with network, cloud, and security teams on infrastructure projectsDocument system configurations, procedures, and architectureSupport on‑prem, hybrid, and cloud-integrated infrastructure environmentsRequired Qualifications7+ years of experience supporting enterprise server infrastructureStrong experience with Windows Server infrastructure including security policies, best practices, etc.Knowledge on how to secure VMware virtual server and host infrastructureHands-on experience with virtualization technologiesSolid understanding of storage concepts (RAID, SAN, NAS, snapshots)Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCPExperience with system monitoring and troubleshooting toolsAbility to work independently and in cross-functional teams
