Child Life Specialist (Per diem)

Position Summary/ Department Summary:Per diem Child Life Specialist. We require a minimum of 2 shifts per month.The Child Life Specialist will be responsible for:Participating in therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, and facilitate adjustment to health care experiencesServe as member of multidisciplinary team.Delegate work assignments to volunteers/Child Life Assistant's and participate in clinical training of student interns.Minimum Qualifications Education:Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life600 hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist.Experience:General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced‐based knowledge.Well-developed writing skills, and excellent communication skills including conflict resolution to effectively work as a team member.* Licensure/ Certifications: Certification in Child Life Specialist required within 1 year of hire for all new hires.The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
