The business operates in a highly regulated environment and manages complex cross‑border compliance and investigations matters.ContextThe organisation requires interim senior compliance cover due to the impending departure of its Senior Compliance Counsel at the end of June, combined with current sick leave and planned holiday during the notice period. This creates a risk of gaps in critical investigations and regional compliance oversight.Key ObjectivesAvoid disruption to ongoing and emerging compliance investigations.Maintain senior‑level oversight of high‑risk regional matters.Support the business through effective handover, continuity, and stakeholder confidence.Scope & ResponsibilitiesPrimary Focus – InvestigationsLead and manage internal investigations, including ongoing matters in China and India, and any new investigations that may arise.Oversee compliance‑sensitive and high‑risk issues across multiple regions.Work closely with external counsel where appropriate (particularly on competition law matters, which can be largely outsourced), allowing focus on investigations and compliance oversight.Regional & Stakeholder EngagementAct as a senior, credible compliance advisor to internal stakeholders.Operate independently with minimal supervision.Ensure culturally sensitive handling of complex, cross‑border matters.Experience & Profile RequirementsSenior compliance lawyer with strong multinational experience.Proven expertise in internal investigations.Comfortable operating autonomously in fast‑moving, sensitive environments.Middle East experience is essential.China experience is strongly preferred, given ongoing and likely future matters.India experience helpful but not essential (local and external coverage is in place).Commercial, pragmatic, and highly credible with senior stakeholders.Location & Working ModelLocation fully flexible; candidates may be based globally.Cultural awareness and cross‑border investigations capability are critical.Timing & HandoverIdeal start: early June (late May also workable).Targeting 2–3 days of overlap with the outgoing counsel to allow:Structured handoverQ&AContext and stakeholder transition
