Peoria, IllinoisOn-Site | Direct Hire OpportunityCompetitive salary $105,000 - $140,000 and benefits package including paid time off, paid holidays, and 401(k)Job DescriptionReliance One, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Hydraulic Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, testing, and optimizing hydraulic systems used in advanced test bench products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fluid power systems, industrial equipment, and multidisciplinary engineering collaboration. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects involving high-pressure hydraulic systems, custom machinery, and integrated controls solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign hydraulic circuits and create detailed schematics for custom machinery and test systemsPerform hydraulic modeling, calculations, and simulations to optimize system pressure, flow, and efficiencySelect and validate hydraulic components including pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and proportional control systemsDiagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic system failures to minimize downtime and improve performanceDevelop and maintain technical documentation including BOMs, schematics, design reviews, and test reportsCollaborate with electrical controls, manufacturing, and production teams to integrate hydraulic systems into complete machine designsSupport onsite troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning activities as neededParticipate in FMEA reviews, code compliance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiativesAssist with estimating and quoting projects when requiredQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or related field preferred5+ years of experience in hydraulic system design and developmentExperience working with industrial equipment or hydraulic testing systems preferredStrong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, closed-loop systems, and proportional hydraulic controlsProven ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex fluid power systemsExperience with electro-hydraulic controls or PLC programming is a plusMechanical and/or structural design experience is beneficialSoftware ExperienceAutoCADSolidWorks experience is a plusDesired SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent organizational and communication skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environmentComfortable supporting customers and equipment onsite when necessaryEqual Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) StatementReliance One, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
