Sales Director - Macy's - New York

We are seeking a commercially driven Sales Director to lead wholesale growth specifically with Macy's, driving revenue, margin performance and strengthening a key partnership. This is a key customer-facing role focused on strengthening the brand’s partnership with Macy’s, identifying growth opportunities across the account, and ensuring the business is commercially planned, well executed, and aligned with both brand and customer priorities.The ideal profile will combine strong wholesale sales experience, excellent retail math, confident account management skills, and a proven ability to build trusted relationships with major department store partners. Current experience managing the Macy’s account is essential. Candidates must be actively managing Macy’s in their current role to be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue, profitability, margin, and account growth.Identify opportunities to expand the Macy’s business through assortment, category, market, and channel development.Lead seasonal business planning, line reviews, assortment recommendations, and customer proposals.Monitor sales, shipments, orders, stock levels, merchandising, markdowns, replenishment, and sell-through performance.Partner with planning and customers on co-op, allowances, givebacks, commercial agreements, and margin improvement.Build and maintain strong relationships with Macy’s stakeholders at DMM level and below.Act as the key link between Macy’s and internal teams across Sales, Design, Production, Planning, Merchandising, and Retail Coordination.Ensure customer feedback, market trends, and competitive insights are clearly communicated and acted upon internally.Travel to customer meetings, market appointments, trade shows, and stores as required.Lead, coach, and develop Account Executives and junior team members across selling, negotiation, presentation, and account management.Requirements5+ years of wholesale sales experience, with apparel, footwear or accessories. Current experience managing Macy's and building relationships with senior retail partners.Strong commercial acumen with excellent understanding of retail math, margin, markdowns, sell-through, stock, replenishment, and seasonal planning.Track record of growing revenue, improving account performance, and opening new business opportunities.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Confident presenter and negotiator with strong customer-facing credibility.Team-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally.
