Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will provide actionable, accurate, and professionally presented information to their own department and other internal decision makers in support of the Firm’s initiatives, including the monitoring of financial / operational performance, trend analyses, and business development. This role will involve producing routine (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) PowerPoint presentations and excel files depicting consolidated financial / statistical performance and profitability, as well as department, client, and timekeeper views of the same. Additionally, the role will require ad hoc reporting, analyses, and miscellaneous data pulls as requested. This position will also interact with our larger Accounting team and contribute to the completion of periodic peer / bank surveys. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Compile and provide senior leadership with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial review presentations and other ad hoc analysesExtract data from 3e, Master Data Hub (data warehouse), or other repositories for data queries or ad hoc analyses requested by your manager, other team members, attorneys (including Partners)Be first point of contact to provide data or analyses requests posted to a central request help distribution listValidate Power BI dashboard content and send notification email to constituents notifying them of recent updates and availabilityWork with other Business Services departments in compiling or analyzing dataWork with the Accounting and Pricing teams to answer audit inquiries and complete benchmark surveysCreate and modify SSRS reports / data threshold alerts as requested by attorneys and Business Service leadershipReview SSRS reporting library and streamline contents to standardize reports / alerts and eliminate unused reportsAssist with the input, collection, and reporting of budget data in our matter budgeting softwareAssist with the data validation between different repositories to ensure consistency and accuracyIterate with Legal department leads on the completion of their annual business plans by providing and collecting supporting KPIsAssist the Professional Development and Accounting departments with metrics and reporting related to performance evaluationsWork with attorneys by answering questions related to financial dashboardsAssist partners by providing information and insights related to client/matter performanceServe as a thought-partner with others inside and outside the department by providing insight to data findingsAssist with consolidating Firmwide budgeted components for Senior Leadership review, iterating with Department Leads, and preparing formal budget presentations for our Management CommitteeWork on additional projects and assignments as requested by our Co-Operating Officers, Senior Leaders, Director, FP&A and Pricing, Manager, Pricing and Data Analytics, Partners, and other Firm LeadersThis position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three (3) days per week in the office. The Firm reserves the right to require additional in office days, up to and including full time in office presence, as business needs require.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:Bachelor’s Degree requiredMinimum 2 to 4 years experience requiredProficiency with Excel required, advanced skill-level preferredProficiency with SQL required, advanced skill-level preferredExperience with SSRS preferredExperience with organizing, navigating, manipulating, and maintaining large data sets and extracts requiredExperience gathering information from multiple data sources and combining into organized, logical, and methodical data sources that provide source information in formal presentations, preferredExperience with financial analytics and scenario modelling preferredExperience with PowerPoint preferred, intermediate to advanced skill-level preferredFamiliarity with Elite 3e preferredExperience with professional services operational model preferredDemonstrate data sources cross-check to source data for validation, and are easily understood by others within the departmentPossess excellent organization skills with keen attention to detailDemonstrate excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsPossess curiosity to investigate anomalies or unusual trendsDemonstrate flexibility and initiative with respect to problem solvingOperate well in a fast-paced and multi-constituent frameworkInteract professionally and collegially with all levels with the FirmWork well independently, with teams, and, at times, minimal supervisionManage time and priorities well; keep manager apprised of deliverablesConsider upcoming deadlines and prepare accordingly so as not to have last-minute activitiesTake pride in their work product and produce polished professional reports for direct distribution to constituents
