Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Associate
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Associate to join a leading Executive Compensation, Employment & Benefits practice. The team advises on a broad range of complex compensation and benefits matters, where tax, labor, securities, corporate, and accounting issues intersect, often across both federal and state frameworks.You will work closely with clients on the design, implementation, and ongoing compliance of employee benefit programs, including qualified retirement plans, global equity and incentive arrangements, and executive compensation structures. The practice supports clients through all stages of their business lifecycle from IPOs and global expansion to mergers and acquisitions and post-transaction integration, delivering strategic and commercially focused advice.This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions, advising a diverse client base including public and private companies, financial institutions, investment funds, and other major organisations on critical and high-impact matters. Responsibilities: Advise clients on executive compensation and employee benefits matters in connection with M&A and other corporate transactionsSupport on restructurings, bankruptcy filings, recapitalizations, and IPOsDraft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, equity incentive plans, and related documentationProvide guidance on qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, ESOPs, and health and welfare benefit plansAssist with post-transaction integration of compensation and benefits structuresCollaborate with internal practice groups and external stakeholders to deliver comprehensive legal solutionsMonitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards Qualifications: 3–6 years of experience in executive compensation and employee benefitsWe are looking for candidates who are intellectually curious and have a solid interest in executive compensation and employee benefits law, including with respect to equity plans and agreements, executive retention packages, retirement and welfare plans, and employee benefit plans and compensation arrangements in mergers and acquisitions, with a particular focus on private equity transactionsExcellent academic credentials and a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolAdmission to practice law in NYStrong analytical, drafting, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Benefits: Highly competitive salary ranging from $260,000 to $390,000, dependent on experienceComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement savings plans and financial wellbeing programsGenerous paid time off and leave policiesAccess to professional development and training opportunitiesCollaborative and high-performing work environmentOpportunity to work on complex, market-leading transactionsIf you are interested in this position, and you meet the requirements of the role, please click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your resume.
