Project Engineer - Refrigeration

Title: Project Engineer – Refrigeration Type: FTE, Salaried Exempt Location: Cleveland, Ohio (Onsite) Wright Technical Services is supporting a leading manufacturer of engineered-to-order refrigeration and temperature control systems in their search for a Project Engineer. Plant Engineering supports the design, development, and execution of engineered-to-order refrigeration and temperature control systems. Project Engineers are responsible for the technical execution of projects tied to custom-built equipment, ensuring alignment with performance, quality, safety, and customer requirements across the full project lifecycle. Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities) Work in a team environment supporting custom, engineered-to-order refrigeration projects Responsible for the technical aspects of assigned projects including design, documentation, and system integration Develop CAD drawings (2D/3D), P&IDs, and detailed engineering documentation Generate bills of materials and support electrical schematic and panel design Assist in development of PLC functional specifications and HMI design to meet project requirements Review customer specifications and ensure alignment with project scope and deliverables Support technical procurement of components and resolve equipment or material non-conformances Create and review project documentation, including test procedures, inspection plans, and turnover packages Participate in equipment testing, validation, and performance verification Support engineering solutions to improve system performance, reliability, and efficiency Interface with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams to ensure successful project execution Assist in managing project timelines, deliverables, and technical milestones Additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership Basic Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience Experience with industrial refrigeration systems, ideally CO2-based systems Strong understanding of heat transfer and fluid flow principles Experience with AutoCAD and/or Inventor Exposure to PLC systems and HMI design is a plus Strong technical documentation and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing/shop floor environments Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of driving project execution
