Fire Suppression System Technician Piper Companies is currently looking for an experienced Fire Suppression System Technician in Tysons, VA to work for an innovative and growing hospital network. Responsibilities include:Perform comprehensive inspections, functional testing, preventive maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting on a wide range of special hazard fire suppression systems, including:Clean agent systems (FM-200, NOVEC 1230, Inergen)CO? suppression systemsFoam-based fire suppression systemsWater mist systemsExplosion detection and suppression systemsExecute functional, pre-acceptance, and final acceptance testing to confirm system readiness, compliance, and reliable performance.Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control-programming issues to maintain optimal system functionality and regulatory adherence.Conduct routine and advanced maintenance, system calibrations, and upgrades in accordance with applicable NFPA standards, including NFPA 12, NFPA 2001, and NFPA 750.Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of inspections, service activities, maintenance actions, deficiencies, and corrective measures.Lead and manage fire suppression service projects of varying scope and complexity, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with quality standards.Participate in project planning and system design reviews, supporting implementation efforts that improve system performance and long-term reliability.Perform site assessments, develop bills of materials (BOMs), prepare labor estimates, and assist with the creation of project schedules.Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, foremen, and other trades to ensure seamless integration and efficient execution of work.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technicians through hands-on guidance, training, and professional development.Actively promote compliance with company safety policies while fostering a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.Build and sustain strong working relationships with building owners, facility managers, and inspectors to ensure high-quality service delivery and regulatory compliance.Stay current with industry standards, code changes, and emerging technologies to ensure systems and practices remain compliant, effective, and cutting-edge.Position requires up to 25% travel within the United States.Qualifications include:High school diploma / GED and 10+ years of related experience, orAssociate's degree (2-year technology program) and 8+ years of related experienceThis position is subject to an additional customer background check.Certifications:NICET Special Hazards Systems Level II required orObtain NICET Special Hazards Systems Level II within 90 days of employment.NICET FA Level II or III preferredTechnical Experience:Proven experience with FM-200, Inergen, CO?, NOVEC 1230, or other clean agent systemsWorking knowledge of NFPA 12, 2001, 750, and related standardsClearance Requirement: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship for access to classified information: Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance required.
