Well now is your chance to help thousands of Volo players to have amazing experiences.In this role, you will help coordinate Volo’s soccer leagues around the DMV. This includes being a daily presence at soccer leagues, communicating clearly with players, evaluating and supporting our refs. You will also have the ability to impact the short, medium, and long term soccer strategy as a way to improve the sport.You will work ~2-9pm, Monday through Thursday. You will also have the opportunity to work on the weekends.As a Commissioner, you will receive our normal staff perks such as free leagues, discounted Volo Pass, etc. Additionally, you will receive soccer commissioner only perks such as exclusive soccer specific merchandise and free tickets to professional soccer events.ResponsibilitiesSPORT PRODUCT & PERFORMANCEAssure quality, control, and strength of programs through site visits and serve as a site lead for programs whenever necessarySpearhead league audit & evaluationSpearhead ref audit & evaluationSPORTS LEAGUE OPERATIONS Provide on-field supportHandle player communication - sending all emails for assigned sport leaguesMaintain equipment for assigned sports including ordering replacements, noting damages, and reporting to the market’s equipment leadMaintain fields as needed based on weather, location, and sport-specific requirementsSet up & take down fields and gather up equipmentCUSTOMER SERVICEAct a first line of communication for soccer playersResolve any emerging problems that our customers might face with accuracy and efficiencyAnticipate and provide proactive solutions to prevent problems from arising in the futureAct as an escalation point for player, parent, partner, and volunteersCall & text sport captains during league registration timeTALENT DEVELOPMENTSupport training in your market for internal refereesRecruit, mentor, and ensure quality staff and product – includes reviewing sport-specific league auditsQualificationsDeep knowledge of soccer rules and regulations from time as a player, ref, and/or coachMust be available to work evenings Excellent written and oral communication skillsWorks well in a team atmosphereAbility to multi-task and make decisions under pressureAbility to lift and carry 30-50 poundsPossess a positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearlyProficient customer service skillsHigh School Diploma /GED EquivalencyMust-HavesInterest in sports and social activitiesSoccer knowledge is a plusStrong attention to detailExcellent oral communication skillsWorks well in a team atmosphereAbility to multi-task and make decisions under pressureAbility to lift and carry 30-50 poundsPossess a positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearlyMust be available to work evenings and/or weekendsProficient customer service skillsHigh School Diploma / GED Equivalency A car or access to transportationStaff PerksDiscounts on Leagues and Volo Pass Memberships: Staff receive discounts on leagues and memberships, with some leagues potentially being free.Sponsor Perks: Staff benefit from perks offered by Volo's sponsors.Networking and Growth Opportunities: Volo provides opportunities to meet new people and grow within the company.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Volo is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer that proudly pursues and hires a diverse workforce.
