Plastics Process Engineer
Role Description The Plastics Process Engineer will work on-site in Devens, MA under a contract arrangement, supporting the development and optimization of injection molding processes for high-quality components. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and validating molding processes, selecting and qualifying molds and tooling, and collaborating with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure parts meet specifications and regulatory requirements. The role involves troubleshooting molding issues, improving cycle times and yields, and implementing process controls and documentation aligned with industry and customer standards. The engineer will also support new product introductions, participate in technical reviews, and work closely with suppliers to resolve material and tooling concerns.Required Qualifications• 5+ years of plastics manufacturing/process engineering experience• Strong hands-on experience with injection molding and plastics processing• Experience with mold/tooling development, qualification, and troubleshooting• Experience supporting NPI/NPD and production launches• Knowledge of PFMEA, SPC, RCA, CAPA, process validation, and control plans• Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings• Proven experience in process optimization and continuous improvement
