DescriptionSummaryLead a critical role in supporting and expanding our advanced service line within the Denver office while remaining actively engaged in field operations. This position is responsible for performing and overseeing advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections on structures, pipelines, components, and materials using methods such as radiography (X-ray), ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, laser profilometry, and other related inspection technologies. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, leadership, and hands-on execution to support growth and operational excellence.Essential FunctionsBuild advanced service line for the Denver officeConduct non-destructive (NDT) testing of components and materials in accordance with applicable codes, standards, equipment utilization, specifications, and procedures.Utilize appropriate NDT method to perform NDT inspections, including x-ray, ultrasound, Phased Array Ultrasonics, Time of Flight Diffraction Ultrasonics, Magnetic Particle, Laser Profilometry, and visual inspections.Select, prepare, calibrate, and operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing of products or materials.Identify defects in materials using appropriate testing technique.Complete documentation and work orders thoroughly following established protocols and meeting required timeframes.Drive Company vehicles and maintain safe driving record.Provide instruction to assigned assistants and ensure safety of entire team.RequirementsEducationHigh School Diploma or GED.Certification and LicensureValid driver’s license.Insurability through PROtect, LLC. insurance carrier.Ultrasonic shearwaveMagnetic Particle InspectionMinimum of 80 hrs from a recognized PAUT training course.320 documented OJT hours in PAUT.Eddy Current Level ll Certification PreferredWork ExperienceDemonstrated NDT skill, knowledge, or experience. Requires Shear Wave and Phased Array experience. Pipeline Integrity experience a preferred however not mandatory. Applicants must meet weight restrictions to ensure their safety when utilizing safety harnesses.3-5+ years of lead experience in advanced servicesKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesNDT Methods – Expertise in multiple NDT methods and willingness to engage in ongoing learning and application of skills.Mechanical – Intermediate mechanical knowledge.Safety – Knowledge of, and willingness to follow and lead others to follow applicable safety regulations, policies and procedures. Apply these safety standards in the work environment and look out for other crew members.Able to Work a Demanding and Flexible Schedule - Strong work ethic required. Able to work long periods of time, up to 16-hour days. Able to respond to call-outs on short notice and to stay on site, including long distance travel for extended periods of time.Physical Demands – Able to frequently lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds on loose, rough or uneven terrain. Able to occasionally exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 150 pounds with assistance.
