Our mission is to empower students to create not just consume in the digital era.Role DescriptionThis is an Animation Instructor Internship located on-site in the Detroit Metropolitan Area.This is a hands-on, performance-based role not a passive internship. You will work directly with students, supporting and co-leading workshops that guide them from idea to final animation.Top performers will be considered for paid instructor and leadership opportunities within Animation Discovery Studio.Responsibilities* Support and co-lead animation workshops (ages 7–17)* Assist in teaching storytelling, storyboarding, and animation fundamentals* Help students bring creative ideas to life through digital animation* Set up and manage equipment (iPads, MacBooks, Apple Pencils, etc.)* Maintain a structured, engaging, and high-energy learning environment* Contribute to real program delivery not observationQualifications* Strong foundation in animation, digital art, or design* Ability to work with and engage youth (required)* Strong communication and interpersonal skills* High energy, reliable, and proactive* Passion for creative education and youth development* Familiarity with animation tools (FlipaClip, Adobe Animate, Blender) is a plus* Pursuing or completed degree in Animation, Art, Design, Education, or related field preferred* Ability to work on-site in the Detroit Metropolitan AreaGrowth OpportunityThis role serves as a pipeline into paid positions, including:* Lead Animation Instructor* Program Coordinator* Curriculum SupportAdditional InformationThis role is best suited for individuals seeking real-world experience in animation, education, and creative production.If you are looking for a passive internship, this position will not be a fit.Application Requirements* Portfolio (animation, artwork, or creative work)* Brief statement of interest in working with youthSend to info@animationdiscoverystudio.com
