DescriptionSummary:The Traveling Construction Site Coordinator provides lasting value for our customers by facilitating the needs of the customer’s job site. This includes, but is not limited to ordering material, receiving material at jobsite, providing material coordination and agile construction practices to the jobsite. This individual is an important liaison between Van Meter sales, operations, and customers in the field. This person must have the flexibility to travel within the United States to be on assignment for months at a time. When not on assignment, this individual will work at the Central Distribution Center as a team member. This person exemplifies all safe work practices. This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P’s and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.Click Here To Learn MoreDay in the life of a Traveling Construction CoordinatorKey Responsibilities & Essential FunctionsAdhere to all company safety policies and initiativesComplete returns for parts and tools from the jobsiteAccurately maintain jobsite inventory and equipmentComplete parts and tools requests through ordering, receiving and shippingConduct product and tool cleaning, inspection, and storage at the jobsiteWork closely with Inside Sales, Purchasing and OperationsProvide customer service and support as main contact between Van Meter and customerSet up and relocate fabrication stations/areasClean, stock and remove excess material from work areasDeliver parts and tools to needed areas of jobsiteReceive and distribute deliveries as neededKeep Connex and laydown yard clean and orderlyClean, charge and/or fuel lifts and generatorsGeneral jobsite housekeepingAssemble lights and other assemblies before installationResponsibly manage expense associated with travel and working in the fieldProcess, cut, and prepare wire orders in an efficient and accurate mannerLabel, verify and ships all outgoing commodity ordersMaintain inventory integrity through uses of cycle count, RD and wire cutting processesClean, maintain and 5S warehouse, office, and break trailersUtilize multiple tools including, air compressors, nail guns, wire cutting tools, etc.General help with crew members when neededRequirementsCritical Success Factors:Ability to work collaboratively with all areas of the job siteAbility to learn, grow, and adapt to changeAbility to effectively communicate with outside vendors and customersExecute duties with the highest regard for safety, continuous improvement, and cost reductionAbility to successfully work independently and in a team environment Strong work ethic with a positive attitudeWillingness to give and receive constructive feedbackExcellent communication skillsStrong problem solving ability Ability to analyze workload and establish priorities with time sensitive deadlinesSelf-motivated Dependable Detail orientatedAbility to stay on taskDrive for continuous improvementAdvocate for Van MeterJob Requirements/SpecificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredAbility to travel within the United States to be on assignment for months at a timePrevious customer service experience requiredPrevious distribution center experience preferredAbility to lift 70 lbs. on a consistent basis Ability to operate lift truck equipmentAbility to work an extended shift to complete work tasks as neededAbility to stand and walk for long periods of timeDemonstrated computer skillsKnowledge of Eclipse preferredKnowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus Forklift operating experience requiredDeployment to jobsites throughout the United States for extended periods of timeMinimum 3 year commitment requiredWork Environment & Physical DemandsConsistently standing, walking, lifting, work indoorsFrequently carrying, pushing, bending at the waist, twisting upper body, reaching, working with hands, working with fingers, vision acuity-near, vision acuity-far, depth perception, field of vision, vision adjustment, color vision, team lifting, work with others, cold, heat, temperature changesSome sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, driving, works alone, non-standard shift work, extended day, humid, noise, work outdoors, mechanical hazardsOccasional crawling, customer contact, wet, vibration, confined area, high places, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilationThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an incumbent.
