MIG WelderWe are seeking a skilled MIG Welder and Fabricator to support manufacturing operations for a company that services the defense industry. This role focuses on the fabrication and welding of metal fencing systems and related fabricated products using a variety of metals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of producing high-quality welds that meet strict defense and quality standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform MIG welding on materials such as carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.Fabricate metal components for fencing, barriers, gates, frames, and similar products.Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.Set up and operate welding equipment, hand tools, grinders, and fabrication machinery.Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal parts to precise specifications.Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and appearance.Maintain compliance with defense industry quality standards, safety requirements, and production documentation.Perform minor equipment maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.Collaborate with fabrication, quality, and production teams to meet build schedules.Essential SkillsProficiency in MIG welding and fabrication.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.Experience with hand tools, grinders, and fabrication machinery.Knowledge of quality standards and safety requirements in the defense industry.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience manufacturing products for the defense or government contracting industry.Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent).Experience fabricating fencing systems, gates, or structural frames.Familiarity with quality inspections and documentation.Forklift or overhead crane experience.Why Work Here?Join a team that values precision and quality, with opportunities to work on meaningful projects that support the defense industry. The facility is equipped with fans and bay doors to ensure adequate airflow.Job Type & LocationThis is a contract position based out of Fredericksburg, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
