Job Description
Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak is seeking a Planning Legal Assistant who is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and motivated by meaningful client work. This role is essential to supporting our estate planning and long-term care planning clients and ensuring that each matter is handled with care, accuracy, and professionalism.The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative legal environment, values integrity and excellence, and takes pride in providing exceptional service to both clients and teammates.Key ResponsibilitiesClient & Legal SupportAssist clients with estate planning and long-term care planning matters by gathering, organizing, and compiling asset and client informationPrepare and maintain client information summaries, asset listings, and funded asset lists following trust fundingPerform trust funding tasks in accordance with firm policies, including updating ownership and beneficiary designations and verifying accuracyAttend client appointments and support attorneys during signing meetingsServe as a notary during document signing appointmentsResearch & DocumentationConduct records research online and at courthouses, including tax assessments, deeds, and gas leasesRecord legal documents at county courthouses as requiredPrepare, proofread, and manage correspondence and legal documentsAdministrative & Operational SupportMaintain and organize hard-copy and electronic filesSchedule client appointments and consultations while delivering outstanding customer serviceManage calendars for attorneys and staff to ensure accuracy and timelinessAnswer phones, route calls appropriately, and assist walk-in clientsPerform general office tasks including scanning, mailing, filing, and data managementProfessional StandardsMaintain strict confidentiality of all client and firm informationFollow firm procedures to ensure work is completed accurately and thoroughlySupport team members and attorneys with additional tasks as assignedRequired Qualifications & SkillsStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracyProficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office technologyAbility to work independently while contributing positively to a team environmentProfessional demeanor with a strong customer-service mindsetNotary RequirementActive Notary Public license in Pennsylvania OR willingness to obtain notary licensure upon hire (firm support provided)Work Environment & ScheduleProfessional, in-office legal environmentStandard office equipment including computers, phones, scanners, and filing systemsMonday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (one-hour unpaid lunch)This position is not eligible for remote workCompensation$20-22/hour based on experienceWhy Work for Steinbacher, Goodall & YurchakAt Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, our people are the heart of our firm.
